Car Driving
Solutions.

Being able to drive means a person can decide where to go and when. DOMO helps persons with limited mobility learn to drive, choose a suitable car, have it adapted and modified. We stay with each person until they are driving on their own.

OUR SERVICES

Driving training using hand-controlled and adapted vehicles

Learners train on cars fitted with hand controls and other adaptations, the same kind of vehicle they will use in daily life. An instructor sits beside them throughout, and the pace is set by the learner's comfort and confidence rather than a fixed schedule. Training starts with learning the controls and moves on to traffic, parking and the situations drivers meet every day. By the end, they can get where they need to go without depending on anyone else.

Driving assessments and personalized driving solutions

Mobility needs differ from person to person, so we do not use one method for everyone. Before training begins, we sit with each person to understand their condition, upper body strength, range of movement, reaction time and any earlier driving experience. We also ask what driving would change for them. For some it means getting to work, for others reaching college, or simply going out without waiting for help. We then recommend the controls, adaptations and training plan that fit them. Families are welcome to join this conversation, as their support makes a real difference.

Vehicle modification guidance.

Many people do not know which modifications exist, which ones they need, or who can fit them properly. We explain the options in plain terms, including hand controls for the accelerator and brake, steering knobs, left foot accelerators and swivel seats, and help each person work out what suits their body and their car. We point them to trusted retrofitters. Our recommendations are guided by safety and practicality, and we never push the most expensive option.

Car selection support.

For a person with limited mobility, the wrong car can be hard to get into, difficult to adapt or tiring to drive. We help people compare models on seat height, door opening, room for a wheelchair, type of transmission and how easily the car can take the adaptations they need. Automatic cars are usually the best choice for hand-controlled driving, and we explain why. We also keep the budget in view, so the final choice is a car one can afford, maintain and use comfortably for years.

Concession and road tax exemption consultancy.

Persons with disabilities in India may be eligible for concessions when buying a car, including road tax exemption or reduction in several states, Fastag exemption, insurance discount etc. Many people miss out because the rules change from state to state and the paperwork is confusing. We explain what each person may be entitled to, which documents they need, such as the disability certificate or UDID card, and the steps to follow with dealers, government offices and the RTO.

Because driving is not just about mobility—it's about independence, dignity, and opportunity.
